Personal Fitness Trainer |
Unlike most fitness trainers, I came into the world of fitness when I began to facilitate workshops for Capital Health, now Alberta Health Services, on Chronic Disease Self Management, more recently Chronic Pain Self Management and Diabetes Self Management. The common theme in all these programs is fitness; you will feel better, sleep better, think better, deal with stress, be able to participate more in life and overall have a higher quality of life with every increase in fitness that you achieve. Being an overweight type two diabetic I thought that I had better start walking the talk I then started to lose weight and found that hiring a personal fitness trainer along with the diet, helped me to lose 60 lbs. During this time I went through a major change in my life, the company that I worked for closed, fitness and exercise allowed me to deal with this and minimize the stress and aggravation.
At this point I was faced with making a career change. The personal trainer that I hired was educated in the NAIT Personal Fitness Trainer Program, so I checked it out. Three years later I’m now a certified personal trainer, I can work with clients of all types and I’m working through the AFLCA programs for, seniors, light equipment and resistance training for the group setting. My NAIT training has given me the ability to work with clients one on one to develop an individual program most suited to their needs.
My goal is to assist you to achieve your goals in the safest, most time efficient manner possible. We will do this in a team approach with my knowledge of fitness training and your desire to improve your fitness and overall quality of life I know we can make it a success.
